Cosmetology

This class is about finding your inner beauty, getting to know each other girl to girl, and showing who you really are. We all have our flaws and this class helps us open up.  In this class, there is no pimple, wild hair, or bushy eyebrow unturned. Nail art, hair straighteners, and crimping irons have found their home.  However, Cosmetology is more than just putting on your make-up and fixing your hair.  We read articles about our inner beauty and have socratic circles on the importance of self.  Additionally, community guests frequently visit to provide expertise on the art of make-up and exfoiliation.  In the end, we are all different, but all beautiful. The most significant lesson in cosmetology is the importance of valuing yourself.

Exploratories: Recording Arts at TLC

In Recording Arts at TLC, we're busy with building our own recording studio. The dream is that one day, TLC can profit from the studio by charging local artists to use it. It will also provide a great place for musically inclined students to broadcast their talent. However, there is a lot of work required to build this studio.

The students have split up into several groups to work on categories such as Design, Creativity, and Electronics. These categories are focus areas for some of the many components we'll need to build the studio. While we are sketching out floor plans, purchasing equipment, and finding artists to feature, we're also busy building character. Through Recording Arts, we have to work as a team and master employable skills; for example, values like respect, responsibility, and perserverance can't be understated.

Revelations 9:11 and September 11th, 2001

Most Americans today remember 9/11/01 as one of the saddest days in the USA's history. 

Some people were believed to see Satan's face in the smoke from the towers. Pretty creepy if you ask me...

Call me superstitious, but I looked into it. I found that Revelations 9:11 reads, "And they had a king over them,

[which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.". There are two photos that clearly show two faces. One face is laughing, and the other is just a 3 horned sinister face:

 

Do you think this is legit?  What explanation could there for what is showing up in these photos?

Are you a Gemini, Virgo, or any of the other twelve zodiac signs? The time has come to switch your sign because your zodiac sign has changed! The astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society just recently discovered that because of the moon's gravitational pull on earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month. Instead of having twelve zodiac signs, we now have thirteen. The new zodiac sign is called Ophiuchus, also known as Serpens or Serpentarius. The 13th zodiac sign was added to the Sidereal astrology, these zodiac signs are the ones mainly used in eastern countries. Most people in the in the United States follow the western astrology (aka Tropical astrology).

Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
